Climate change adaptation

As part of its climate change adaptation efforts, the Company identifies and assesses physical climate risks. Based on the results of this assessment, measures are planned and implemented annually to prevent and mitigate the potential negative impacts of climate change on employee health and the safety of production facilities and infrastructure.

To protect employees from extreme temperatures and other adverse climatic factors, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems are installed in production and staff facilities. Drinking water is delivered to workplaces. Employees working under extreme temperature and climatic conditions are provided with special clothing, footwear, and other personal protective equipment.

The climatic conditions of the regions where production facilities are located are taken into account during their design and operation. Equipment is selected with consideration for expected temperature and weather impacts. Seasonal operating modes for equipment and energy consumption standards are adjusted based on actual and forecasted weather conditions.

As part of climate change adaptation efforts, special attention is paid to ensuring the safe operation of oil and gas production facilities in the Arctic region. Potential changes in temperature conditions, stability, and the bearing capacity of permafrost are taken into account during the design, construction, and operation of production facilities and infrastructure.
