LUKOIL’S PRESIDENT PAID TRIBUTE TO FIRST PRESIDENT OF UZBEKISTAN

During his business trip to Uzbekistan, the President of LUKOIL Vagit Alekperov visited the grave of the first President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov in the Hazrat-Hyzr memorial complex located in Samarkand.

Vagit Alekperov paid tribute to Islam Karimov together with the khokim (mayor) of Samarkand region Zoyir Mirzaev and Chairman of the Uzbekneftegaz National Holding Company Alisher Sultanov. LUKOIL’s President placed a bunch of red roses on the grave of the first Uzbek President.

Denis Rogachev, Senior Vice President for Overseas Oil and Gas Production, and Sergey Nikiforov, Vice President for Central Asia, Middle East and North Africa, also represented LUKOIL at the meeting.
