LUKOIL’S KEY POINT IN WEST SIBERIA CELEBRATES ANNIVERSARY

{ 9/7/2017 12:00:00 AM }

President of LUKOIL Vagit Alekperov and Governor of Yugra Natalya Komarova took part in the festive events dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the town of Pokachi, one of LUKOIL’s anchor points in West Siberia.

As an anniversary gift, a landscaped park decorated with an installation carrying the name of Pokachi and two sculptural compositions were unveiled to the citizens. The first one is a bronze bust of N.B. Melik-Karamov, an honored drilling foreman and discoverer of the Pokachev field. The project was created by Evgeniy Bochkarev, a sculptor from Chelyabinsk. He also deserves the credit for designing the second sculpture, a bronze group of three animals - symbols of the town, titled “The Sable Family”. A large playground equipped with slides, swing sets and pullup bars was mounted in the park. Construction workers and architects managed to preserve trees: pines, birches and mountain ashes that had been growing there before Pokachi was founded.

Vagit Alekperov and Natalya Komarova also visited an impromptu ethnic village of the Khanty and Mansi and took part in the festivities dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Pokachi.
