PJSC LUKOIL started operating in Chuvash Republic in 1998 when the Company signed a cooperation agreement with the government of the Republic. In the same year on the Day of the Republic the first LUKOIL filling station was opened in Chuvashia.
There are 14 filling stations working currently in Chuvash Republic under the LUKOIL brand, some of them are located on M-7 Volga federal highway. The fact that the filling stations are located so conveniently makes it possible for the residents of Chuvashia and visitors to the region fill their cars with top-quality fuel and enjoy European level services at the filling stations.
The Company's charity programs are aimed at supporting cultural projects. The Company helped lay out the Astronaut`s Alley on the premises of the Andrian Nikolaev Space Museum. Mikhail Ignatyev, Head of the Republic, attended the opening ceremony. On a regular basis, LUKOIL supports republican festivals, sponsors the Youth Theater. Orphans participate in the cultural and educational "We have found our Talents" project at the local arts museum.
The Cabinet of Ministers of the Chuvash Republic and LLC LUKOIL-Volganefteprodukt signed a cooperation and coordination agreement.
The Social and Cultural Projects Competition has been held in Chuvash Republic since 2012.
A total of 1,068,850 rubles were allocated to finance the projects associated with the competition over the years.
2014 — an open-air exhibition entitled "Personalities of Manned Space Exploration" was opened at the Space Pilot A.G. Nikolayev Memorial Site in the village of Shorshely.
2014 — the Company supported the 7th International Cheboksary Film Festival.
2014 — as part of the Year of Culture in Russia and LUKOIL's Social and Cultural Projects Competition, the Company donated a minivan to the Republican Palace of Culture and Folk Arts in Cheboksary for the local artists to be able to make guest performances.
In 2014 the "Poligon" cultural and educational center was established as a synergy of projects that had already existed in Chuvashia at that time ("Movie Museum", "Urbanism", "Literary Club") and new inter-disciplinary creative projects combining research, promotion, and use of applied science, contemporary culture, and social science. The "Poligon" turned into an experimental research laboratory to present, discuss and implement innovative creative and scientific ideas, a source of inspiration for youth start-ups, a platform for public discussions and civil initiatives. The academic campus of the "Poligon" is available to all population groups (children, adults, seniors, the disabled) and continuously offers diverse educational programs, including unique training sessions, master classes, focused lectures on computer science and physics, urbanism, media and design, visual culture and cinema, natural history, sociology and social entrepreneurship.
In 2014 an open-air exhibition entitled "Personalities of Manned Space Exploration" was opened at the Space Pilot A.G. Nikolayev Memorial Site.
In 2015 the "Theatre Ambulance" project as part of which actors performances were given in hospitals, orphanages, social rehabilitation centers, and institutions for the elderly was implemented. Such alternative therapy cheered up the patients, helped them forget about their illnesses and diversify their leisure-time activities.
