In
2011
in Kaliningrad, Astrakhan, Volgograd, Rostov, Moscow,
Tyumen Oblasts and Krasnodar Krai, a competition titled Win With Us! was
organized by LUKOIL's Sports Club with participation of the LUKOIL Group
enterprises and the Russian Council of Veterans. Children, students and the
Company's employees participated in the soccer, Nordic skiing, rhythmic
gymnastics, paintball, bowling, volleyball, and handball competitions
celebrating the Company's 20th anniversary and the people who have made a
significant contribution to the development of the Russian oil industry,
including N.Ê. Baibakov, S.À. Povkh, V.Yu. Filanovsky-Zenkov, V.G. Schmidt, Yu.S. Korchagin and
V.P. Sukharev.
In 2010 Kaliningrad, Astrakhan, Volgograd, and Moscow Oblasts,
Krasondar Krai and the Republic of Komi hosted competitions for the Cup of OAO
LUKOIL President. Volleyball, team handball, soccer, skiing, water polo, and go
kart tournaments were contested by some 15,000 young people. In addition to
that, the Company with the sports clubs and organizations sponsored by it, held
children's competitions, marking the 65th anniversary of the victory in the
Great Patriotic War.
In 2009 LUKOIL’s sports club together with leading Russian athletes,
sports veterans and professional sports clubs implemented the All-Russian
Charity Program “Believe in Yourself” devoted to the Year of Youth in Russia.
The primary goal pursued by the project was to actively promote healthy
lifestyles and focus on physical training of students and schoolchildren in our
country.
The “Believe in Yourself” project covered Moscow, Vladimir, Tomsk,
Kaliningrad Oblasts, Perm Krai and the Republic of Komi. The charity program
included cross-country skiing, soccer, volleyball, go-kart and indoor soccer
events and assisted regional children's and youth sports schools in purchasing
sports equipment. The number of young people participating in the events
exceeded 8,000.
In 2008, the “Live with Sports” event took place in Perm Krai,
Astrakhan, Volgograd, Moscow, Chelyabinsk Oblasts and the Republic of Komi. Nine
schools with a total of 2,379 students aged 4 to 15 received state-of-the-art
sports equipment.
