On June 27 through June 30, 2012 LUKOIL gave a Presentation dedicated to its priority investment projects.
On June 27, 2012, as part of the Presentation, representatives of the investment community visited the Company's headquarters. Participants of the Presentation had a chance to learn about the activities of LUKOIL's Drilling Support Center and Center for Geological and Hydrodynamic Modeling of LUKOIL-Engineering. LUKOIL's Drilling Support Center manages and controls construction of the Company's most important wells. The Center provides extensive capabilities for real-time monitoring of drilling operations, process and geological support to drilling, and interaction between cross-functional teams of experts and specialists. LUKOIL-Engineering Center for Geological and Hydrodynamic Modeling develops and supports geological and process models of the Company's fields. The guests were shown 3D field simulations stored in computer memory as multidimensional 3D objects enabling research and forecast of processes that occur during field development by updating the data over the entire field operation period.
On June 28 and 29, 2012 representatives of the investment community visited LUKOIL's production facilities in Astrakhan Oblast.
On June 28, 2012 they visited the Krasnye Barrikady shipbuilding yard, LUKOIL's partner company in the construction of infrastructure for offshore oil and gas fields in the northern part of the Caspian Sea. Russia's first jack up floating drilling rig Astra was constructed at this enterprise for our Company. Currently, they are building an accommodation module and riser platforms for the Filanovsky field. The guests visited construction sites of two facilities completing the infrastructure for the Filanovsky field and familiarized themselves with the field commissioning schedule.After visiting the shipyard the participants were taken to the LUKOIL Group’s Corporate Training Center and BIOS research and development base of KaspNirH, also located in the Ikryansky region of Astrakahan Oblast.
The LUKOIL Group’s Corporate Training Center that provides training to the staff of offshore facilities was created in 2011 to provide training and advanced training to personnel for the development of offshore facilities in the northern part of the Caspian Sea and work at the Company’s international offshore projects. The guests examined the center and familiarized themselves with training simulators that reproduce the actual working conditions for the staff at offshore oil and gas facilities during regular, unscheduled and emergency situations.
Next they visited the BIOS research and development base of KaspNirH that deals with sturgeon breeding on the Caspian Sea sponsored by LUKOIL Group. The guests were told the history of the center and shown the sturgeon brood stock, this year's offshoot, and the unique environment of the closed cycle water supply system that enables year-round fish breeding in BIOS shops. The visitors had the chance to release the BIOS-grown young sturgeons into the Volga River.
On June 29, 2012 representatives of the investment community visited offices of LUKOIL-Nizhnevolzhskneft. LUKOIL’s Vice President for Technology and Development of Oil and Gas Fields, Vladimir Mulyak, delivered a presentation here to the visitors entitled “Caspian Sea - Region of Growth”.
Then the participants visited the fixed offshore ice-resistant platform at Yu. Korchagin field. The FOIRP at Yu. Korchagin field with a 560 ton capacity drilling facility to drill boreholes as deep as 7,400 meters was commissioned on April 28, 2010. Currently, new production wells are being drilled by the platform. The guests familiarized themselves with the activities of the oil production platform — a unique technical engineering facility — that includes drilling, oil production, and treatment and transportation functions, all operating under marine law and combining principal operations with recreation and household activities.
In Astrakhan, the guests enjoyed an extensive entertainment program. They visited the Astrakhan Kremlin, and attended an event dedicated to Kazakh culture, which was held in the Cultural Center named after Kurmangazy Sygyrbayev, a Kazakh musician.
On June 30, 2012, the representatives of the investment community visited the Volgograd refinery. During the refinery tour they were familiarized with the progress of upgrading the plant’s production capacity. Then a presentation entitled “Development of LUKOIL’s Downstream Business” was delivered by LUKOIL’s Director for Refining, Thomas Mueller. The Company’s representative, Rustem Gimaletdinov, delivered a presentation entitled “Development of the Volgograd Refinery”.
