Integration into Russian Wholesale Energy Market

PJSC LUKOIL has aligned its 135 MW CCGT unit in Budennovsk, Stavropol Krai, with the Russian National Unified Power Generation System. The unit has been commissioned and transmits electricity to the wholesale electricity and capacity market. The 135 MW CCGT unit is also intended to supply heat to the neighboring petrochemical plant owned by Stavrolen LLC, a LUKOIL Group member. Utilization of the gas produced by the Company at its Caspian fields as prime fuel will ensure synergies. Following certification of the electric capacity generated by the 135 MW CCGT unit, the obligations of the LUKOIL Group under the Capacity Supply Agreement (CSA) to supply 890 MW to the Russian wholesale electricity and capacity market will be considered fulfilled in full.

World Record in Horizontal Drilling

In the North Caspian Sea at the Yu. Korchagin offshore ice-resistant stationary platform a new world record was set in horizontal drilling footage with a significant bottom displacement in well No.108, where 4,908m of horizontal hole was drilled in one run without any tripping in the 9½ inch section. The record set in well No.108 is confirmed in the Schlumberger/Smith Bits world database. Well No.108 was drilled horizontally in the reservoir at only 1,565m true vertical depth, to a total length of 8,005m, which is the largest figure as part of the Korchagin field development project.

Pilot Operations as part of "Early Kandym Gas" Project in Uzbekistan

LUKOIL began production tests of two Gas Treatment Plants (GTPs) at the Northern Shady Site and the Kuvachi-Alat Field in Uzbekistan's Bukhara Region as part of the Kandym Early Gas Project, which is being implemented together with the National Holding Company Uzbekneftegaz. The GTPs have a combined annual capacity of 2.2 billion cubic meters and will process natural gas from 34 wells to supply the Mubarek Gas Processing Plant. The Kandym Early Gas Project is the initial stage of the large-scale Kandym Group of Fields Surface Facilities Construction Project under the Kandym-Khauzak-Shady-Kungrad PSA. The Kandym group consists of six gas condensate fields, including Kandym, Kuvachi-Alat, Akkum, Parsankul, Khoji and West Khoji. The Northern Shady Site (Dengizkul Field) is located within the Khauzak-Shady Project area, but its surface facilities are being constructed as part of the Kandym Early Gas Project.

Major Offshore Gas Field Discovered in Romania

LUKOIL, PanAtlantic and Romgaz, parties to the Concession Agreement, discover a major offshore field on Lira marine structure within Trident block (EX-30) on the Romanian continental shelf. Water depth within the block ranges from 300 to 1,200 meters. The block has an area of 1,006 km2. Lira-1X well is located about 170 km (90 miles) offshore, where the sea depth is about 700 meters. The well was drilled to a depth of 2,700 meters (8,858 feet) from TransOcean Development Driller II semi-submersible drilling rig. According to preliminary analysis of the drilling and geophysical survey data, Lira-1X delivered a productive interval with an effective gas-saturated thickness of 46 meters. According to seismic data, the area of the gas field can reach up to 39 square km, reserves can exceed 30 billion cubic meters of gas, which is to be confirmed during evaluation drilling.
