The Press Service of PJSC LUKOIL reports that on January 12, 2016 the district tribunal of Prahova (Romania) rejected the indictment act which was submitted by the Prosecutor’s Office against S.C. PETROTEL LUKOIL S.A. PLOIESTI and LUKOIL EUROPE HOLDINGS BV and some of its employees. On January 19, 2016 the Ploiesti Court of Appeal rejected an appeal by the Prosecutors’ Office for changing this decision. Therefore the case will be returned to the Prosecutor’s Office.
This decision was taken by the district tribunal of Prahova (Romania) due to the absence of description of the criminal activity of the defendants as well as due to a number of investigation procedure violations. The company has repeatedly declared that the activity of S.C. PETROTEL LUKOIL S.A. PLOIESTI and LUKOIL EUROPE HOLDINGS BV as well as of its employees fully complies with the international law and existing Romanian legislation.
