KOGALYM TO BECOME RESEARCH AND EDUCATION CENTER OF YUGRA WITH LUKOIL’S SUPPORT

President of LUKOIL Vagit Alekperov and governor of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District Natalia Komarova discussed joint work to open a branch of the Perm National Research Polytechnic University (PNRPU), Russia's leading engineering education institution, in the Kogalym town. The project is being implemented under the tripartite Cooperation Agreement concluded between the Company, Kogalym town administration and PNRPU with the support of the Government of Yugra. Engineers for oil and gas industry will be trained in accordance with international standards and leading Russian and foreign professors will be invited to lecture in Kogalym.

The future research and education center is designed to have a total area of 19,500 m2. The complex will feature classrooms, laboratories, a dormitory, sports facilities, an assembly hall, meeting rooms, an amphitheater, a canteen and a coffee shop. The existing research and training infrastructure of LUKOIL-Engineering will be integrated into the new architectural composition.  Currently the construction site is being prepared. The research and education center will be completed in 2023. Meanwhile the Company and PNRPU will focus on providing career guidance to high school students in Yugra. 

During their visit to Kogalym the president of LUKOIL and the governor of the region also held a meeting to discuss progress of social projects in the town. They also visited the construction sites of a tennis center and a new hotel that are being built with the support of the Company.
