LUKOIL TO CONTINUE COOPERATION WITH VOLGOGRAD REGION

​​President of LUKOIL Vagit Alekperov and the Governor of Volgograd Region, Andrey Bocharov, signed a Protocol to the Agreement on Social and Economic Cooperation for 2018 – 2022, in Volgograd today.

Previous agreements facilitated notable improvements of the region's social infrastructure. Both the city of Volgograd and some districts of the region received financial assistance for the redevelopment of cultural facilities, sports and health centers and for the construction of motor roads. The company also helped to establish an interactive museum, Russia - My History, renovate the city stadium, Temp, reconstruct a water-supply intake in Kotovo district, build a new kindergarten for one hundred children, renovate a children-and-youth center, a central hospital and two kindergartens. A fountain, called Art, at an embankment in the center of Volgograd has been renovated.

Vagit Alekperov and Andrey Bocharov also visited the construction site of the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and took part in the awards ceremony of LUKOIL's 14th Contest of Social and Cultural Projects in Volgograd Region. Ninety-two winning projects, of the record-breaking 572 applications submitted for the contest this year, will be implemented on the company's grants. The winning bids include a parachute training site, a lawn tennis virtual training facility for disabled children and teenagers, and a project to raise environmental awareness and prevent accidents among beachgoers.

Last year, the LUKOIL contest resulted in successful implementation of 67 projects of social importance.
