Petroleum Product Wholesale

The LUKOIL Group’s 2016 wholesale sales totaled 105.3 million tons, including 94.0 million tons sold abroad. The Company continues to actively develop its international petroleum products supply business that enables it to efficiently sell its products and generate additional revenue from the sales of third party products.

LUKOIL is one of the largest suppliers of bunker fuel, with bunkering operations covering 18 ports in six Russian regions. The Company carries out its overseas operations in Bulgarian ports and on the Danube river.

The key fleet bunkering locations are the Baltic, Barents, and Black Sea ports, and Russian internal waterways. The Group's bunkering fleet includes 18 tankers whose total load-carrying capacity is 48 thousand tons.

The Group's share in bunker fuel supplies to the Russian market in 2016 was 27%.

LUKOIL supplies jet fuel of both in-house and third party production mostly for "into-plane fueling" to the Russian and international airports (in Bulgaria and Turkey) through its network of subsidiaries or under the contracts with third-party fueling companies.

In 2016, aviation bunker fuel sales exceeded 2.7 million tonnes, down 4.2% year-on-year, mainly due to disposals of Ukrainian distribution assets. However, into-plane fuel sales generating the highest margins were up 1.7% in 2016, reaching 1.8 million tonnes. During the past five years, the share of intoplane fuelling in the total sales of aviation bunker fuel grew from 43% to 64%.

Major Russian and foreign civil airlines have been primary consumers of the Group's products for many years now. In 2016, the Company's "into-plane" fuel sales were made at over 30 Russian airports.
